Working on Wellness Organizations Win WorkWell Massachusetts Awards!

Congratulations to the winners of the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts (WWCMA) WorkWell Massachusetts Awards Program! Two Working on Wellness organizations received awards for their exemplary work in worksite health promotion. Award recipients demonstrated key elements of comprehensive wellness initiatives including leadership and organizational support, assessment of health risks and wellness interests, program design and implementation, participant engagement, community collaboration and measurement and evaluation processes.



Who: A small manufacturing organization located in Avon, MA

Health Priority: To support employees in getting more physically active

Examples of Interventions:

  • Indoor and outdoor walking paths
  • Walking meetings
  • On-site gym
  • Flex-time policy to encourage employees to be active before or after work shifts

springfieldSpringfield Partners for Community Action

Who: A small non-profit organization located in Springfield, MA

Health Priority: To support employees in weight management and healthy eating

Examples of Interventions:

  • Healthy foods in vending machines
  • Skill building workshops (e.g., healthy cooking demonstrations)
  • On-site nutritional seminars
  • On-site exercise facility
  • On-site exercise classes
